    LEGO ROBOTICS RCX CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class is an introduction to building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorms RCX Robotics Invention System.  Students learn mechanical design, construction, programming and teamwork skills. In small teams, using LEGO blocks, motors and sensors, students build robots that can walk, draw, move objects, or find their own way and avoid obstacles. Students use a control console or computer to teach their robots to move, react, and make sounds in order to solve challenges.  This class is good preparation for kids interested in robotics competitions such as FIRST LEGO League.   Note: This class will repeat some projects from last year's classes, but added challenges are always available.
Instructor Steve Putz has taught LEGO robotics at local schools and coached award winning robotics teams since 1999. In 2002, he founded Robotics Learning to provide LEGO Robotics workshops, classes and summer camp programs. Steve previously worked for the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center doing software research and has several software patents.
Maximum class size is 16 students.  The class may be canceled and a refund provided if minimum enrollment of 12 students is not achieved. No refunds for missed classes.  Phone or email to ask about scholarships. This class is provided by Robotics Learning
