Coach and Mentor Workshops

FLL Mentors Workshops help FIRST LEGO League Coaches, Mentors and Assistants (age 15 and up) be effective in organizing and facilitating a team of 9-14 year olds participating in the FIRST LEGO League program and competition.

The FLL Coach Robotics Workshop is a hands-on class which includes:

• Use of a Mindstorms robotics kit and computer for every two participants
• Hands-on activities to practice robot construction
• Hands-on activities to practice robot programming
• Practice sample challenges on a past season's FLL Challenge Field

This workshop is appropriate for coaches or mentors with no previous LEGO Mindstorms experience.
It is also possible to include advanced programming topics if there is interest.

• See an assembled FLL Challenge Field for the current season
• Demonstration/explanation of challenge field, missions and scoring
• Answer questions about how to best organize and coach team members
• Answer questions about robot design and how to instruct teams in designing robots
• Answer questions about robot programming and how to instruct teams in programming
• Answer questions about FLL award criteria (research/presentation awards, teamwork/values  awards, etc).
• Answer questions about FLL regional and state tournaments

FLL Team Workshops

FLL Team Workshops introduce children and adults to FIRST LEGO League, and teach fundamendal skills for building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System.

Workshops can be customized for your needs and include hands-on play and tutorials with LEGO Mindstorms robot kits and software, and practice with challenges from past FLL seasons.  For more information, contact info@RoboticsLearning.com.  For other classes, consult the Class Schedule.
